NFL Week 14 Picks

Texans @ Jaguars
The two most horrible teams face off in what is the must-watch game of the week; maybe of the season!  Haha no, but actually this game will probably have the most relevance on next year, as it will determine who gets the first pick in the draft.  (Also, the Texans are the only team that makes me pick the Jags)
Jaguars 21 - 17

Colts @ Bengals
The Colts and Bengals are both fighting for one thing this week: who faces who in the 2nd round of the playoffs.  The only problem is I'm not sure who would be worse: Denver at home, or New England at home.  I actually think the Colts would rather play Denver as they have already beat them once this year.
Bengals 24 - 20

Browns @ Patriots
Man this is a tough one to pick... I mean, with New England playing at home and the Browns losing to the Jaguars last week... only God knows who'll come out on top in this one.
Patriots 38 - 17

Raiders @ Jets
While the Jets have been an absolute mess this season (and who could have predicted that *cough* me *cough*.  The Raiders have actually been not as bad as anyone would have thought.  A little fantasy advice: Start Andre Holmes.  He'll do well against the Jets pre-K secondary.
Raiders 24 - 13

Chiefs @ Redskins
I'm guessing the Chiefs are tired of losing after 3 in a row.  Luckily, the Redskins are an easy bump off, because the only thing they are playing for is a lower draft pick.
Chiefs 27 - 20

Vikings @ Ravens
The Ravens need to win this game.  And they will.
Ravens 24 - 14

Falcons @ Packers
Tempting to pick the Falcons here, because without Rodgers, the Packers look like they couldn't beat a bunch of high-schoolers in a pick up game, but the Falcons haven't exactly been setting the world on fire either.  If the Packers lose this game, Rodgers isn't coming back this season.
Packers 21 - 20

Bills @ Buccaneers
I may be way off base, but I still believe in EJ Manuel.  Plus the Bucs are awful.  I don't care that they've won the last couple games. They're still awful.
Bills 17 - 14

Dolphins @ Steelers
The Dolphins have all but fallen out of the Playoff race, while the Steelers still have a glimmer of hope especially if the Ravens lose some of their upcoming games which is very possible considering they have to face the Lions, Patriots, and Bengals to finish off the season.  The Steelers want this more and will take it at Heinz Field
Steelers 24 - 20

Lions @ Eagles
This will be a hard fought game, but as usual, the Lions will shoot themselves in the foot in the fourth quarter and lose.
Eagles 27 - 24

Titans @ Broncos
I predict a hard fought game.
Broncos 42 - 14

Rams @ Cardinals
The Cardinals may make the playoffs for the first time since Kurt Warner retired, but to do that, every game from this point forward is a must-win.  I think they get it done at home.
Cardinals 27 - 20

Seahawks @ 49ers
The old grudge match.  While it was the Seahawks defense that embarrassed the 49ers last time they met, this time with Russel Wilson and the offense clicking, it'll be the offense that gets it done.
Seahawks 31 - 24

Giants @ Chargers
If the Giants even want to have a shot at the playoffs, they have to win their division.  They lose this game on the west coast, but lucky for them, so does the Cowboys (see below).
Chargers 27 - 21

Panthers @ Saints
This is the best game this week if you ask me.  Seattle /  SF is close, but there's a reason why this game got flexed to SNF.  I predict this one will go down to the 4th quarter where I trust Brees a little bit more.
Saints 31 - 28

Superbowl Odds for every team at the Seasons Mid-Point (100 - Superbowl Favorite, 0 - No Chance)

49ers (6-2) Seemed to have worked out most of the kinks.  As long as they dont play Seattle at

home, they'll get close.
80

Bears (4-3) The Injuries to Cutler and Briggs are devistating.  They are about to drop 3 in a row
till Cutler gets back.  That may be too much to come back from.
50

Bengals - (6-2) Andy Daltons playing good football right now.  Can he take the next step and
carry it over into the playoffs?  Time will tell.
65

Bills (3-5) Before EJ Manuel's Injury they looked decent, but this team still has too many issues
on offense.
20

Broncos (7-1) No doubt a very good team, but keep in mind if Kansas City keeps winning, they
will be 5th seed tops in the playoffs.  That probably means facing Indy at home again.  ;)
95

Browns (3-5) This would be the Browns year to take control of the AFC North with the Bengals,
but injuries are keeping them out yet again.
25

Bucaneers (0-7) Terrible.  Bye bye Greg Schiano
05

Cardinals (4-4) Better than a lot of people expected.  Palmer needs to up his play and needs
to make quicker decisions though.
35

Chargers (4-3) This team will go as far as Philip Rivers takes it.  Whether that's week 17 or the
AFC Championship.
50

Chiefs (8-0) Nobody saw the Chiefs being this good.  But to be honest I'm still a little skeptical.
Oh the Chiefs are good, but are they good enough to beat Denver, Cincinnati, or Indy?
80

Colts (5-2) Yes the Colts have lost some games they should have won, but when you look at
the teams they've beat, no one has a better resume.
95

Cowboys (4-4) If the Cowboys don't shoot themselves in the foot like they usually do, they
should win the NFC East.  They're fate is in their own hands.
70

Dolphins (3-4) Not yet good enough to compete with New England.  Getting closer though.
Should be ready about the time Tom Brady retires.
40

Eagles (3-5) Chip Kelly has had a rude awakening into the reality of the NFL: This isn't college,
it's tough to win in the NFL and you can't rely on your offense simply outrunning the other teams
defense.  This causes mistakes and it only takes 1 mistake to lose you a game.
30

Falcons (2-5) The Falcons beat out the Giants for the biggest disappointment this year
because of the fact that, (This may sound ridiculous) the Giants actually still have a chance to
win their division.
30

Giants (2-6) They have played awful football up to this point.  However, they have won 2 in a
row and are only 2 games out of first in the NFC East.  As ridiculous as this may sound, don't
count the Giants out yet.
40

Jaguars (0-8) "And with the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Jaguars Select: Teddy
Bridgewater.
0

Jets (4-4) Better than most people may have thought, but unless they make the playoffs, Rex
Ryan is probably on his way out.
40

Lions (5-3) Been able to make up for their mistakes up to this point, but if they really want to
compete in the NFC North, THEY HAVE TO BEAT THE PACKERS.
50

Packers (5-2) They will win the NFC North for the 3rd Concecutive year.  Even with the loss of
Randall Cobb, Aaron Rodgers will be able to make it to the playoffs.  From their the only
question is will the lose to the Saints in New Orleans or the Seahawks in Seattle.
85

Panthers (4-3) Much like the Chargers, this team will go as far as Cam Newton will take them.
Only in this case, he will basically have to take them on his back and carry them into the post-
season.  I don't see them making it, but it would be really impressive if they did.
55

Patriots (6-2) AFC East Champions for the bajillioneth time.  Keep an eye on week 12 when
they face off against the Broncos.  That will definitely have playoff implications.
70

Raiders (3-4) That Terrelle Pryor is alright.  If they can coach him up and have him make better
decisions.  The Raiders may be able to build around him in the future.
30

Rams (3-5) The loss of Sam Bradford hurts this teams chances, but their defense will keep
them in most games.
40

Ravens (3-4) The defending Superbowl champs have a little Superbowl hangover.  There's still
plenty of time to get back on track.
55

Redskins (2-5) RG3 will probably be ready to go in a few weeks, but if the Redskins lose 3
more games, their season is officially over.
40

Saints (6-1) Probably the safest bet to make the NFC Championship in the NFC.  Whether
they make the Superbowl or not will depend on whether they get to play in New Orleans or in
Seattle.
95

Seahawks (7-1) The Seahawks control their own fate from this point forward. They need to do
whatever they need to to win until they get Percy Harvin back to full strength.  Once they do, that
will take some pressure off of the offense.  If they end up getting home-field for the playoffs,
they better start printing the Seahawks NFC Champions shirts.
95

Steelers (2-5) Mike Tomlin probably is safe for another year after this one, but after that, he
better make something happen.
35

Texans (2-5) Until the Texans get a decent quarterback, they will not be able to compete with
the elite teams of the NFL.
30

Titans (3-4) Another 7-9 season for the Titans.  Honestly they would be better off to lose all of
their games from the beginning and get a first round draft choice.  Finishing middle-of-the-pack
every year is the worst thing you can do as an NFL team.
30

Vikings (1-6) It's official, Last year was a fluke.  The Vikings need to pull some strings and get a
good quarterback, or join the Teddy Bridgewater sweepstakes.

Week 4 Thursday Predictions 49ers @ Rams

49ers @ Rams

Ahh one thing that makes Football the greatest sport on Earth is that anyone can win on any given week.  But to go along with that, anyone can lose too.  These two teams puzzle me week in and week out.
Let's start with the Rams.  One week they'll look like a well-oiled machine.  Sam Bradford will make great throws, he'll have protection, and his receivers will make plays.  The next week, they'll go an entire half of football having a net gain of 15 yards.  The 49ers have baffled me and about 93 million other people who watch football.  You go from a Superbowl team with an electrifying offense, to having an offense that rivals having Rex Grossman at center.  The only thing that's been consistent about these teams has been the defense so far through the season.  Both teams have decent defensive units, but lack in the secondary.
Nevertheless, I believe one of these teams will pull out of their slump this week.  And the team that will do that is................................The R49ms.  Haha realisticly though, the 49ers front office needs to stop trying to turn Kaepernick into a pocket-passer.  He's not.  What he can do is get out and make plays like he did in the 2012 playoffs.  I realize that not being a pocket-passer has its many potential hazards, but those are going to be there anyway, so you might as well be a little riskier and win some games.  If the Niners unleash Kaepernick and let him play, they will win this game.  If not, this game will be all Rams.  I think that Harbaugh will see this and make the right decision.
24 - 17 49ers

NFL Week 3 Predictions

@
Andy Reid returns to Philly and he returns with the win. With the better defense he is able to exploit Vicks biggest weakness: Himself.
Chiefs

 @
Andre Johnson's injury is going to hurt the Texans, but equally important is Ray Rice's injury.  After a hard fought battle, Texans squeak out the win.
Texans

Both these quarterbacks have been struggling, but this game is where 1 gets back on track... and its not Newton.
Giants

Had RG3 been 100%, this game would be different.  But the Skins won't be able to slow down Megatron with that defense.
Lions
  @
In my eyes, the Chargers are a very underated team so far this season.  Coming from the west coast is always tough, but I think Philip Rivers finds a way to pull this one out.
Chargers

Drew Brees and the Saints are too good to bet against at home.
Saints

Tom Brady may be without viable recievers at the moment, and that will hurt him against tough teams.  He'll be ok agaist the Buccaneers though.
Patriots

The Bengals have the better defense, better running game, and a receiving core that rivals the Packers, but when it comes down to it this game comes down to one thing: Aaron Rodgers
Packers

I see this one being another close game, but in the end the Cowboys want this one a little more.
Cowboys

The Vikings have lost two close games.  There wont be a third this week.
Vikings

This game will be surprising close, but in the end the Falcons have too much fire power on offense for the dolphins defense to overcome.
Falcons
 @
I've been extremely impressed with EJ Manuel over the past 2 weeks.  Not just his play, but his general poise and confidence.  I'll buy in.  The Bills got a steal.
Bills
 @
The 49ers were humiliated last Sunday Night.  Expect a big bounce-back game from Kaepernick.
49ers

This has gotta be the biggest blowout of the week.  The Jags are gonna DESTROY the Seahawks!... haha yeah right
Seahawks
 @
So far, Jay Cutler is thriving in Marc Trestman's offense.  Were finnnaly  getting to see the kind of quarterback he could have been for years with a good offensive line and some viable recievers.  On the flip side, the Steelers haven't looked this bad in years.  They'll keep it close, but in the end the Bears go 3-0.
Bears

Ok, I was wrong.... THIS is the biggest blowout of the week.
Broncos

Currrent Record : 27 - 5

NFL Opener

Ravens @ Broncos

The rematch everyone's been waiting for all offseason.  The Peyton Manning led Broncos take on the Superbowl champion Ravens.  I predict another hard fought game, but I think this time it will have the opposite result.

Broncos come away with the win.

The NFL Season is Among Us

The NFL Season is Among Us

The first Preseason game of the 2013 NFL season is just a week and a half away, where the Miami Dolphins will face the Dallas Cowboys in the annual Hall of Fame game.  First off, let me just say this: Preseason Football sucks.  However, if your as much of a fan of the game as I am, after 6 months of no NFL, I'd watch every minute of a Browns Raiders preseason game, and be more glued to the TV than I've been in half a year.  There's nothing quite like watching football on a Sunday afternoon, can I get an Amen?

With that being said, I thought I'd put out my predictions for this NFL season.  I'll go more in detail after the preseason, but I thought I'd get these out there so there's proof on my picks for later in the year when no one believes who I called making the Superbowl this year.  So here we go:

 AFC North
This division is a tough one to call because I like Cincinnati's roster but I believe more in Roethlisberger and Flacco than Dalton.  I'm not saying he's a bad QB I'm just saying the other two have won Superbowls.  Hard to Argue against that.  I'm ultimately going with a comeback year for Pittsburgh and I expect them to take the division crown back in 2013.  Oh yeah, Cleveland's a mess.

Pittsburgh Steelers                    10-6
Baltimore Ravens                       9-7
Cincinnati Bengals                      9-7
Cleveland Browns                       5-11

AFC South
This is one of the relatively easier divisions for me to call.  It's obviously going to come down to the Colts and the Texans.  I'm taking the Colts to make strides in Luck's second year and take the division from the Texans and also make it to the Super Bowl.  I'm not a big believer in Jake Locker although I have seen flashes of miediocoreness.  Jacksonville has a long way to go before their considered a threat to anyone who has learned how to zip up their own pants.

Indianapolis Colts                     11-5
Houston Texans                        10-6
Tennessee Titans                      5-11
Jacksonville Jaguars                4-12

AFC East
"Oh No!  Tom Brady lost all of his offensive talent!"  "Oh No!  The Patriots are going to miss the playoffs!"  Yeah, and let me guess: the Jets are headed to the Superbowl.  I honestly don't know whats wrong with people who say and think these things this year.  The Patriots are going to win this division comfortably like they always do.  You could take everyone away from Tom Brady and just have him do his QB sneak all game and you'd still probably make the playoffs.  The Miami Dolphins are the next closest and though I like what they're doing, it wont be enough this year.  Buffalo still hasn't figured out that you have to send people out to play defense when the other team has the ball.  I hope Rex Ryan enjoys this season with the Jets, because after they win their 4 games, their seasons over and so is his head coaching job.

New England Patriots                11-5
Miami Dolphins                           9-7
Buffalo Bills                                6-10
New York Jets                            4-12

AFC West
Broncos win it.  The End.  Kansas City may surprise a few people by being as good as they will be , but they wont be a real threat to teams like New England or Denver.  Still give Andy Reid props for trying.  San Diego isn't going to be able to do anything with that O-line.  Trust me, I'm a Bears fan, I know.  Raiders aren't going anywhere.  They've found the bottom of the barrel and they like it.

Denver Broncos                        12-4
Kansas City Chiefs                     9-7
San Diego Chargers                   8-8
Oakland Raiders                       4-12

NFC North
This is what is in my opinion the toughest division in football.  Don't believe me?  If you play in this division, you have to face Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, and Brandon Marshall.  And they're all on different teams!  Excluding Detroit, I believe that any one of the other 3 teams could potentially take the division title home, but I think the one with the best chance is the current division champs: Green Bay.  Rodgers is the best QB in football, and when you have him on your side, you always are a legitimate threat in the regular season and in the playoffs.  I really like some of the moves Chicago has done this offseason, specifically getting a new Tight End in Martellus Bennett and a whole crew of new O-linemen, but this is still Marc Trestman's first year with the Bears, so I don't see them winning the division.... yet.  I like what Minnesota's been able to do, but I still have questions about their QB situation, and without a good QB, your not winning a Superbowl in todays NFL.  I think the Lions are a better team than last year, but with the division getting tougher, I don't think it'll show.

Green Bay Packers                  12-4
Chicago Bears                          11-5
Minnesota Vikings                     8-8
Detroit Lions                              7-9

NFC South
The Saints will come marching into the division title once again.  No really!  Atlanta's schedule is tougher than the Saints.  Also, there were several games last season where Atlanta actually should have lost in my opinion.  It was usually the other team did something stupid in the 4th quarter that gave the Falcons the win.  The Falcons are a good team.  They'll make the playoffs, but as a wild card.  Carolina is better than their record states, but Cam Newton needs to realize that he has teammates and needs to stop trying to be the hero of every game and actually make smart decisions.  I like what Tampa Bay's been doing... I just like all of the other teams better.

New Orleans Saints                 11-5
Atlanta Falcons                        10-6
Carolina Panthers                      8-8
Tampa Bay Buccaneers            7-9

NFC East
This is a tough one to call because frankly, I have no idea what to expect from Chip Kelly's Eagles.  Will they be good or will they suck (probably suck).  Anyway, to me this division honestly comes down to who got a more favorable schedule.  It's not the Redskins.  They got a BRUTAL schedule, especially in the end of the season.  Same thing with the Giants.  I'm actually gonna go a little crazy on this one and go with the Cowboys as the 2013 NFC East Champions.  Their schedules just more favorable and they got their bye at the right time.  Burgundy and I disagree for once.  It'll be the only time.

Dallas Cowboys                      10-6
Washington Redskins              9-7
New York Giants                      9-7
Philadelphia Eagles                 6-10

NFC West
The final NFL division comes down to 2 teams:  the 49ers and the Seahawks.  Both have some of the best defenses in the NFL, but I do see one difference in their offenses: Leadership.  Kaepernick isn't a bad team leader, but he's no Russell Wilson.  Wilson can take over a game not only physically, but mentally as well by rallying his teammates and putting his team on his back when he has to.  Watch some of the Mic'd games and you'll see what I'm talking about.  I believe in Russell Wilson, and while the 49ers might have the overall better team, you can't replace team chemistry with having good players.  Like Welker with Brady.  Yes there are better receivers, but they knew what each other was thinking.  That's why I'm picking the Seahawks to win the division this year and make it to the Superbowl.  This is a make or break it year for Sam Bradford, and my guess is, we see him take a lot more chances to try to prove himself.  The Cardinals better find a decent QB soon or else they'll have to have Fitzgerald throw the ball as high as he can and then run to the endzone and catch it.

Seattle Seahawks                     12-4
San Francisco 49ers                 11-5
St. Louis Rams                          9-7
Arizona Cardinals                     6-10

NBA Finals Game 3 Predictions

My guess is Danny Green and Neal both have big three point shooting games for the Spurs.  Ill say Green has 7 three pointers while Neal will probably have 6 threes.  Spurs win in a blowout.  Im guessing Lebron only scores 15 or so.  Just a feeling....

Game 1 NBA Finals

Well, the Miami Heat ended up finally sealing the deal on Monday with a blowout win against the Indiana Pacers.  That means that they will be playing the Spurs in the NBA finals.  Game 1 is tomorrow, so here is my prediction:

The Heat got a little rest, but that wasn't enough for Lebron and Wade.  They were too busy trying to figure out how to get their shooting percentage as high as the Birdman.  Their conclusion is bound to be the same as mine:  Its the Mohawk.  Lebron and Wade will have a quick hair transplant and be ready to go tomorrow.  However, they forgot to ask the Birdman what brand of glue to put in their hair so it'll stay up the whole game.  They decide to go with the Elmer's glue; a fatal mistake, as Andersen uses Gorilla glue.  They come out on fire in the first half hitting on 17 of 17 shots, but the glue wears off in the second half, and with hair in their eyes, they hit 1 of 22 in the second.  Needless to say Spurs walk away with a comfortable come-from-behind victory.

Heat vs Pacers Game 5 predictions

With the series all tied up 2-2, Lebron and company look to take the lead from the Pacers at Miami.  This feels a lot like last years Heat vs Celtics series where the Heat eventually won 4-3.  That means that we're about due for another historic night from Lebron like Game 6 of the Celtics series last year.  I'm guessing Frank Vogel is thinking this to, so he will be doubling Lebron most of the night.  Lebron will still get around 24 points by sheer will, but the important thing is that him being doubled by the Pacers will leave a lot more chances for Ray Allen, Shane Battier, and especially Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade.  I'm going to say that Wade has a great night for the Heat, and the Heat win in a close one.
Final Score : 96 - 93  Heat
